THE SONG: Let’s Dance.

WHO: David Bowie.

WHY IT’S HOT: The Thin White Duke shifted gears in the 80s and veered from the progressive/glam rock he was known for in favor of some timeless dance-tinged numbers. One of the very best of this bunch; “Let’s Dance”, showcased Bowie’s haunting vocals and esoteric songwriting to a new urban audience. He rode this one straight to the top of the charts and cemented himself as a true master musical chameleon. Years later, Diddy sampled this record and gave it a second life. Rest in Perfection. You and your music are truly missed.

WANT MORE? Another Bowie smash from the 80s in “China Girl”.

WORDS: Greg Cee.
