At first people would say, it’s like the flu or thousands of people die every year from car accidents. It’s hard to communicate that the staggering number of fatalities caused by Covid-19 is in addition to normal death rates. Sometimes, visuals make it easier to comprehend what is really at stake. The following graphs drive home that the pandemic isn’t a case of Covid-19 deaths replacing annual flu deaths. They are on top of them (literally in these graphs).
