According to media reports, select Indian cities are on the verge of going into lockdown once again, only this time it is a pollution induced event. Ironically, after knee-capping COP26 by insisting on weaker language with regards to coal use, New Delhi is on the verge of shutting down due to smog generated by the burning of coal. Unfortunately for Indian citizens, coal isn’t the only source of dangerous air pollution. Historically, agricultural fires have added to the country’s particulate misery.
