WHO: Sharon Van Etten (feat. Angel Olsen).
WHY IT’S HOT: Having grown up during the 1980s, I’m generally wary of rehashed Reagan-era pop music tropes. This single sort of explodes from its initial chords and announces itself as a big power pop song with nary a quiet millisecond in it. There was a certain gaudiness to radio rock of that era which this song captures in spades. Sharon Van Etten and Angel Olson sound glorious together.
