WHO: Steely Dan.
WHY IT’S HOT: FM, the title track from the 1978 film, is Steely Dan at their best. Hyperbole aside, it’s truly a stellar record that showcases the impeccable production, witty lyricism, and sublime instrumentation that you expect from them.
Funny thing; the film bombed at the box office but FM was a hit and won a Grammy.
They just don’t make songs like this anymore and it’s a shame.
